John Hickman, Owner/Managing Director: John has been at GCS since 1983 and has vast experience of the cylinder gas industry. John is currently leading GCS’s strategic way forward.

Previously, John led GCS through the implementation of its first quality management systems, along with becoming one of the first accredited inspection bodies for cylinder testing. A qualified HR practitioner, John has focused on building the current business success through developing a team of people with performance-driven skills and experience.

John is a passionate follower of rugby and cricket, who also loves skiing the slopes of Switzerland, or playing a round or two of golf. In the winter, John enjoys the country life with some fine wine and good food.

Ashley Reeves, Owner/Sales Director: Ash joined GCS over 30 years ago in 1985 and has enjoyed various management roles within the business. He joined the board as Sales Director in 2001, bringing his service focused skills into play, building relationships with customers and suppliers. In his spare time, he enjoys a game of golf and a beer and spending time with family and friends.

Rob Thorley, Owner/Technical Director: Rob joined GCS in 2016 after nearly 20 years association working for a key supplier. He provided engineering design and gas control product solutions throughout this period. He is now helping develop the technical service we offer customers. From his shared GCS association with Verigas Engineering, complete manufacturing solutions are available – allowing a one stop shop service. In his spare time Rob enjoys sports cars, fossils and films.

Tim Jeffery, Quality and Improvements Manager: Tim brings to GCS a strong background in Lean manufacturing, plus quality and safety management. Tim oversees a team of 20 cylinder retest and revalidation inspectors. In his leisure time Tim enjoys restoring classic cars and motorcycles.

Wez Belton, Operations Manager: Wez is passionate about achieving best results first time. And he delivers on his promise. He’s a keen biker and car enthusiast, which goes part way to explain his in depth knowledge of all things engineering.
